10 natural home remedies for sensitive teeth pain

 
 
 The sensitive tooth is also called dentin hypersensitivity that affects to root surfaces and the tooth. This condition happens when you get gum recession or when the enamel tries to protect your teeth. Almost of people get this problem and your teeth are sensitive if you breathe in cold air, drink or eat acidic, sweet, or cold foods.

Pepper and Salt :-

Salt mixed with pepper can be of great use when a tooth becomes extremely sensitive as both the ingredients have antibacterial, anti-inflammatory and analgesic properties.

  1. Mix equal amounts of pepper and common salt with a few drops of water to form a paste.
  2. Apply the paste directly on the affected tooth and allow it to sit for a few minutes.
  3. Do this daily for several days.

Garlic :-

Use of garlic can also provide immense relief from toothache. Garlic has antibiotic and other medicinal properties that can be very effective in reducing the pain.

  1. Mix a crushed garlic clove (or garlic powder) with some table salt or black salt and apply it directly on the affected tooth to alleviate the pain. If you prefer, you can chew one or two cloves of garlic to get relief.
  2. Repeat this natural treatment for a few days.

Cloves :-

Cloves have anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, antioxidant and anesthetic properties that help alleviate tooth pain and fight infection.

  • Grind two whole cloves. Mix in a little olive oil or any vegetable oil and apply on the affected tooth.
  • Another option is to dab a cotton ball in clove oil and rub it directly on the sore tooth. Or, you can mix a few drops of clove oil in half a glass of water and use it as a mouth rinse.

Onion :-

Onion is a perfect ingredient in your kitchen when you can use it to cure sensitive teeth. This ingredient has antimicrobial and antiseptic properties that can manage your toothache. By using onion, you might relieve pain, germs, and infection.

  • You can chew raw onion for some minutes every day to reduce the pain shortly.
  • Alternatively, you can put raw onion on gum or sore tooth.

Asafetida :-

Asafetida might help you get rid of gums and toothaches well at home with the following ways:

  • You mix some teaspoons of lemon juice with ½ teaspoon of asafetida powder. Warm the mixture and use a cotton pad to dab in the mixture, apply it on the affected region to reduce pain.
  • Another option is to apply asafetida in tooth cavity to relieve pain instantly.

Salt Water :-

  • Another simple home remedy for sensitive teeth is salt water, which is usually used to treat toothache.
  • In order to reduce inflammation and swelling caused by sensitive teeth as well as fight infection and bacteria in your mouth, you just need to add some salt into a cup of hot water and rinse your mouth daily.

Spot Treatment :-

  • Along with brushing the teeth with desensitizing toothpaste twice every day after meals, spreading a little amount of this paste on the sensitive tooth area at night and going to bed without rinsing your mouth will help to work the paste over night.
  • Continuing spot treatment regularly will reduce tooth sensitivity significantly within a month.

Stay Away from Acidic Foods and Acidic Drinks :-

  • Some acidic foods like pickles and oranges, and drinks like fruit juices and red wine put the enamel at risk.
  • Also avoid too cold or too hot drinks as they can increase the sensitivity of teeth all the more by damaging dentin and tooth enamel.
  • Limit the consumption of these foods and if you can’t avoid them completely, brush after 15-20 minutes of consuming them.

Guava Leaves :-

Have you heard about guava leaves, which can treat toothache effectively? In fact, guava leaves contain antimicrobial, analgesic, and anti-inflammatory properties that you can believe in to heal sensitive teeth. There are some options you can choose:

  • The first way is to chew some young guava leaves until you feel less pain in teeth.
  • The second option is to boil several guavas leaves, cool naturally and add some salt to wash your mouth every day.

Vanilla Extract :-

    • Another home remedy for sensitive teeth is vanilla extract.
