Home Remedies to Reduce Body Heat

When you suffer from increased body heat, you can have such symptoms as weakness, lethargy, dizziness, headache, nausea, muscle cramps, excessive sweating and a rapid heartbeat. Dehydration can be called a cause as well as an outcome of raised body heat.

So, it is always recommended to drink water in such circumstances. If you have been in the sun for longer, move to a shady place or some other place that has lots of cool air and shade too, like in an air conditioned room. Sponging with cool water is perhaps the next thing that should be done to get rid of body heat. Here are some more remedies to reduce body heat.

Lemon :-

Regular use of lemon can keep the body cool and prevent heat-related illnesses. The high vitamin C in lemon can help lower body temperature. It also hydrates and oxygenates the body to keep you feeling energized and refreshed during the hot summer days.

  1. Squeeze the juice from ½ lemon into a glass of water.
  2. Add 1 teaspoon of honey and a pinch of salt to it.
  3. Drink about 3 glasses of this refreshing drink a day.

Cool Water Therapy :-

This is natural, water reduces heat. In fact, water is the only way that can bring down high temperatures. Whatever remedy you are going to use to reduce body heat, it will include water in some or the other form. But to use water in its pure form, what should you do? Here’s the answer:

    1. As soon as you realize that the temperature of your body has increased to an abnormal level, grab a glass full of cool water and drink it. If that doesn’t quench your thirst, have one more glass of water.
    2. Now take a foot bath and fill it with water till halfway. Add some ice cubes to this water. Soak your feet in this tub and relax.
  1. Keep on drinking water frequently till your body heat is reduced to normal levels. If you can not have so much of plain water, have some substitute like the ones that have been given in the below remedies to reduce body heat.

Drink Coconut Water :-

Coconut water is super hydrating. It is low in calories and is cholesterol free. So you can have as much of coconut water as you like.

Having more potassium than four bananas, the natural sweet nutty flavored coconut water also balances electrolytes in your body. Thus, it is a good remedy for dehydration which almost always accompanies body heat. It helps prevent and treats the loss of too much body water by replenishing body fluids.

  1. Get a tender green coconut
  2. Have its water directly from the coconut (with the help of a straw, of course!) or after taking it out in a glass
  3. If required, have more coconut water after about half an hour or so.
  4. You can consume water from 3-4 coconuts in a day when you suffer from body heat. This water is harmless and is easily digestible.

Cucumber and its Juice can help reduce your Body Heat :-

Apart from watermelon, cucumber is yet another food that helps you beat the heat! With its high water content, this summer vegetable having a fresh and crunchy taste can help you reduce body heat.

Because it also has diuretic properties, cucumber also helps flush toxins out of your body as well as maintains healthy tissue and skin. It is extremely low in calories with minimal amounts of sugar, carbohydrates and fats and has high levels of vitamin B, phosphorus, calcium, zinc and other minerals. Therefore, you can have this watery vegetable whenever you think your body is high on temperature.

  1. Peel, cut and blend cucumber pieces to make a fresh cucumber juice. Add a dash of lemon juice or have it as it is. Both ways, it will reduce your body heat.
  2. Slice cucumber and make a salad. Have the crunchy vegetable to replenish water in your body
  3. You can also top your sandwich and burger with cucumber slices.
  4. Whip the slices of cucumber to make a quick spread. Add some lemon, mint and yogurt to make it more flavorful and cool.

Peppermint :-

  1. Peppermint has a soothing and cooling effect.
  2. Thus, it is an effective remedy to help reduce body heat.
  3. Simmer a few ounces of fresh peppermint leaves in a pot of boiling water for 15 to 20 minutes.
  4. Strain out the leaves and allow the water to cool.
  5. Add the peppermint-infused water to a bathtub filled with cool bath water and soak in it for at least 20 minutes.
  6. You can also prepare a peppermint bath by adding a few drops of peppermint essential oil to cool bath water.
  7. Steep one teaspoon of fresh or dried peppermint leaves in a cup of hot water.
  8. Strain and sweeten with a little raw honey.
  9. Cool it in the refrigerator and enjoy your cool peppermint tea a few times a day.
  10. In addition to reducing body heat, it will also relieve nausea and headache.

Watermelon &Coconut Water :-

  1. You can eat watermelon to reduce your body heat.
  2. Watermelon has the vitamins that can absorb the excessive heat from your body and it makes a balance your body heat.
  3. Drink 4 to 5 glasses of water every day.
  4. Moreover, a glass of coconut water can rehydrate your body temperature.
  5. So, you can take this regularly to get rid of body heat.

Sandalwood :-

    1. It is an excellent cooling agent to reduce body heat and pimples.
    2. Sandalwood powder when mixed with cold milk and rose water can be made into a paste and applied on forehead, face and neck to get relief from heat, excess oil and pimples.
  1. If you feel a burning sensation under your feet then apply this paste on your feet before going to bed.
  2. Keep it for 5-10 min and wash off to get a soothing cool effect.
  3. A face pack of fuller’s earth with sandalwood powder is also helpful in getting free from skin problems due to excessive body heat.

Mint :-

  1. Mint has excellent cooling properties.
  2. It soothes the body and gets rid of heat efficiently.
  3. A cool peppermint bath with a concoction of mint leaves or mint essential oil added to cool water can prove beneficial in reducing body heat.
  4. Drink an ice cool mint tea 3-4 times a day whenever you feel increasing body heat to lower your temperature effectively.
  5. After long working hours a soothing head massage with mint oil is another good option to reduce body heat for men and women.

Peaches :-

  1. Peach is bountiful of water, potassium and vitamin B.
  2. It not only rehydrates the body but also maintain the optimum electrolyte balance thus reducing hot flashes.
  3. Peach is nutritive and healthy way of lowering the body temperature and efficiently controlling body heat.
