Natural Home Remedies for Removing Pregnancy Stretch Marks – Get rid of Stretch Marks
Stripes or streaks formed on the skin as a result of swift stretching of skin or weight changes. They primarily show up on belly because of pregnancy or obesity. When the connective tissue is stretched due to the expansion and contraction of skin, the stretch imprints begins creating on the dermis or the center layer of the skin. The stretching of the skin makes the collagen feeble.
It is advisable to treat stretch marks as soon as you can, preferably when you notice the first lines after pregnancy. In fact, there are certain cures which you can attempt even during pregnancy so that you do not get stretch marks at all.
Alfalfa to remove Stretch Marks :-
Rich in amino acids, vitamins E and K, this herb,Alfalfa is used by many to fade the marks away. You may also give it a try as they are said to be great skin toners.
Get this:
• Alfalfa Powder- 1 tsp
• Chamomile oil- few drops to make paste
Do this:
• Mix alfalfa powder with chamomile oil and mix well.
• Apply the paste to your stretch marks.
• Leave for 15 minutes.
• Wash off with water.
• Do this thrice a day.
Eat Well to Remove Stretch Marks :-
Apart from keeping your skin well hydrated, you also need to keep it well nourished. Lack of nutrients inside your body can never give you full benefits of creams, lotions, oils, masks or any other thing that you apply externally on your skin.
- Have a good amount of proteins daily. Beans, fish, egg whites, yogurt, nuts and seeds like those of pumpkin, squash, and watermelon seeds, peanuts, almonds etc.
- have foods high in Vitamin C and E to encourage growth of skin tissues. Peppers, guavas, dark leafy greens, broccoli, gooseberries, papaya, oranges, strawberries are high in vitamin C. Spinach, nuts, kale, olive oil, tropical fruits like papaya and kiwi, wheat all are rich in Vitamin E.
- Have seeds and nuts rich in mineral content (especially zinc) during your pregnancy. This tones up your skin well.
- Avoid saturated fats in your diet as they make you gain weigh and obesity can cause stretching of the skin giving you those ugly stretch marks.
Castor Oil :-
Castor oil, which is used in the treatment of a number of skin problems such as wrinkles, age spots, moles, dark spots, fine lines and pimples, can also be used to get rid of stretch marks.
- Apply some castor oil to the stretch marks and gently massage the area in circular motions for 5 to 10 minutes.
- Wrap the area with a thin, cotton cloth. Using a hot water bottle or a heating pad, apply some heat to the affected area for at least a half an hour.
- Repeat this process daily for a minimum of one month to notice positive results.
Aloe Vera :-
Aloe vera is effective in the treatment of many skin problems. Its healing and soothing properties can be used to get rid of stretch marks. There are a couple of ways to apply it.
- You can directly rub aloe vera gel on the affected skin area, leave it on for 15 minutes and then rinse the skin with lukewarm water.
- Another option is to make a mixture with one-fourth cup of aloe vera gel, oil from 10 vitamin E capsules and oil from five vitamin A capsules. Rub this mixture onto the skin until fully absorbed. Repeat this process daily.
Lemon Juice :-
Another simple way to lessen stretch marks is to use lemon juice. Lemon juice is naturally acidic which helps heal and reduce stretch marks, acne, and other scars.
- Rub fresh lemon juice gently onto the stretch marks using circular motions. Allow the lemon juice to soak into your skin for at least 10 minutes before rinsing it off with warm water.
- Another option is to mix equal quantities of cucumber juice and lemon juice and apply the mixture on the stretch marks.
Olive Oil :-
- Take 1 teaspoon of extra virgin olive oil in your palms and massage it gently around your stomach and belly bottom area for 5-10 minutes, leave it on for more 30 minutes then wash it off or take bath to get rid of stretch marks.
- Mix 1 teaspoon olive oil with 4-5 drops of water and 5 drops of vinegar and apply this mixture on affected skin, leave it overnight, use this mixture as a night cream. Regular application of olive oil exfoliates and moisturizes our skin.
- Slightly warm 1 tablespoon of extra virgin olive oil and rub it gently on the stretch marks. Leave it for 30-40 minutes so that the vitamins A, D and E contains in the oil are absorbed by your skin. Warm olive oil massage improves the blood circulation and reduces the stretch marks in few days.
Eggs Whites :-
- A rich source of protein, applying egg whites is considered to be an effective remedy for stretch marks.
- It is said that the proteins in egg whites rejuvenate your skin.
- Try applying whites on the stretch marks on a regular basis and see how the marks fade away.
Shea Butter or Cocoa Butter :-
- Just as the oil treatment, you can also go for the butter treatment.
- Cocoa butter or Shea butter is considered to be a popular remedy for stretch marks.
- Apply Shea butter or cocoa butter directly on the stretch marks to reduce their appearance.
- Butter application on the affected area improves the elasticity of the skin and prevents dryness. Wash off after application and repeat the procedure regularly.
Lemon with potato :-
- Mix 1 tablespoon fresh lemon or orange juice with 2 tablespoon of fresh potato juice.
- Apply this mixture on the affected skin for 40-50 minutes, and then wash off with warm water.
- Do this twice a day for fast result. It is recommended to apply this before going to bed and leave it overnight.
Sugar Scrub :-
- Sugar scrub is another remedy for stretch marks.
- Mix 1 Tbsp of sugar with few drops of lemon juice and a small amount of almond oil.
- Mix it well. Now apply this mixture on your stretch marks.
- This scrub exfoliates your dead skin. Do this every day before take your bath. Watch your stretch marks reducing.
