NATURAL HOME REMEDIES FOR ECZEMA (ATOPIC DERMATITIS) IN KIDS & ADULTS
Eczema refers to a medical condition that is characterized by irritated or inflamed skin. Sufferers of eczema have dry, itchy, red, or cracked skin. The most commonly occurring type of eczema is known as atopic eczema or atopic dermatitis.

Contact Dermatitis :-
This kind of eczema occurs because the contact between skin with an allergen or irritants. There are 2 kinds of this Eczema: Allergies Contact Eczema: eczema that occurs because the skin contact with an allergen, such as: dust, fumes, animal dander, and more. Irritant Contact Eczema: eczema that occurs because the skin contact with irritants in the environment such as: soaps, detergents, perfumes.
Asteatotic Eczema :-
Asteatotic Eczema is a type of eczema that suffered by elderly. Asteatotic eczema has characteristic: cracked skin, usually caused by dry skin (loss of skin’s natural oil) and the over use of soap. This eczema usually appears on the ankle and usually occurs in the winter or in cold climates. This eczema also know as Eczema Cracquelée or Eczema Cracquele or Asteatotic Dermatitis.
Nummular Eczema or Discoid Eczema :-
Nummular Eczema usually suffered by adults who have a dry skin type. This eczeme has characteristic: coin shaped, red and scaly. This eczeme usually occurs on the arms and legs. This eczema is very itchy, and can be worsen at the excessive hot temperature.
Varicose Eczema :-
This eczema also known as Gravitational Eczema or Venous Eczema or Stasis Eczema. This eczema usually affects older people. This eczema is caused by poor blood circulation and faulty valves in veins. The symptoms of this eczema are: skin darkening, redness, swelling and itching. This eczema usually occurs in the lower leg.
Natural Home Remedies For Eczema (Atopic dermatitis)
Olive Oil :-
Extra virgin olive oil has anti-inflammatory properties that help in reducing the redness and inflammation of your skin due to eczema.
1. Take enough amount of extra virgin olive oil and apply it over affected skin and leave it for 5-10 minutes (clean the affected skin before applying olive oil)
2. Then gently rub this olive oil on the skin so that the olive oil gets deeper into the affected skin.
3. Now place hot washcloth over the affected skin and hold it on till the cloth cools down. Repeat this process 4-5 times continuously.
4. Then wash the skin with cools water. Repeat this remedy once or twice a day to get rid of eczema and eczema scars.
Aloe Vera :-
Aloe vera is an effective herb for treatment of eczema. Aloe vera has anti-inflammatory property which helps soothe the itching inflammation of skin due to eczema. Additionally, it contains anti-microbial properties, which prevents further skin infection. It also helps hydrate the red, dry skin caused itching and keep the skin moisturized naturally.
- Extract 1-2 tablespoon of fresh aloe gel from aloe leaf or you can use readymade pure aloe gel.
- Add 1 teaspoon of fresh lemon juice and vitamin E oil to this ale gel.
- Apply this mixture directly on the affected skin.
- Leave it on for 1 hour and then wash it off with normal water.
- Follow this procedure twice daily for best and fast result.
Sandalwood :-
Sandalwood is very effective in treatment of many skin problems eczema, sunburn etc as it has anti-inflammatory, soothing, antimicrobial, and cooling properties that help alleviate irritated, dry and red skin. Moreover, it can help lighten up eczema scars naturally.
- Add 1-2 teaspoon of pure sandalwood powder to half teaspoon of camphor powder and enough rose water or plain water to prepare smooth paste.
- Apply this mixture on the affected skin area and leave it on for 30-45 minutes.
- Then rinse off with cool water. Follow this remedy once or twice a day.
Aloe Vera Juice :-
The gel like sap that you will get from the Aloe Vera plant if you cut the leaf of the plant has been used to treat burns, wounds and other skin conditions for ages. It has soothing and healing properties that will help you to get rid of eczema problems on your skin. Applying Aloe Vera gel on your skin will help in reducing itchiness as well as works as a moisturizing lotion for your dry and flaky skin.
Take Only Warm Baths :-
It is important for you to just think of taking warm baths as cold baths are not called for when you are suffering from skin irritation and eczema. A cold bath will make your skin dry up quickly. You also need to add in a few eczema soothing ingredients in your warm bath water to reduce the itchiness and pain that you are suffering due to eczema.
