They are everywhere! I love them and have been thinking of how many ways I can use them. There is an amazing sale on them this week, so we are stocking up. Did you know a pomegranate will last up to 2 months in the refrigerator and up to a month on the counter? Also that you can remove the arils (seeds and the surrounding water-laden pulp) and freeze them? I can’t tell you all the ways that I can think of using these. Smoothies, cocktails, sauces, salad dressings, pies, savory dishes.
Following pomegranate-banana smoothie has plenty of antioxidants than herbal or green tea. This combination will increase your immunity power and give glowing healthy skin. This smoothies tastes like a creamsicle, actually tastier than it.
Pomegranate contains vitamin C (vital for healthy skin), fiber, protein, potassium, folate and vitamin K.
On the other hand, blueberries, oranges and banana contain strong antioxidant, vitamin and minerals that boost your immunity.
If the size of a pomegranate is medium then it is considered that it contains 15% of vitamin C. this type of vitamin is useful in making the immune system better. The juice should be made out of pomegranate for the better immunity and health of heart.
Free radical damage in the body affects your cells and it leads to development of wrinkles and other signs of ageing. Polyphenolic compounds like tannins present in pomegranate are powerful antioxidants which delay the process of ageing, thus consumption of pomegranate gives you glowing skin.
1 cup pomegranate seeds
1 peeled orange
1 large or 2 smaller, ripe, spotted banana
1 cup organic blueberries (optional)
1 cup milk
1 tablespoon vanilla (optional)

Add everything except the hemp seeds to the blender. Puree top with hemp seeds and pomegranate jewels if desired.
Add pomegranate juice, frozen raspberries and banana into the blender. Add in a heaping tablespoon of flax seeds or hemp seeds. Toss in a handful of spinach and blend until smooth. This recipe serves one smoothie equaling about 2 cups.
